    • Complete an utter fail by Eloise!
What a shame people weren’t sent home.

I felt a bit sorry for Chef Cadaver (I’ve got no chance of writing it properly). He clearly is going to lose at least one star as well as his credibility from his restaurant from having Masterchef in town.

      • Yeah she lucked out getting that fish which she had no clue what to do with. Plus they are fiddly & time consuming to fillet & de bone.

    • That is amazing! Reminds me of the Survivor Edgic process, where people predict the winner based on confessionals and the type of edit

    • Hope it’s also ok to make a spreadsheet out of it….
No surprise when you look at people like Nicole who have gone home.
It’s not how much time they get at the beginning but who gets more time towards the end, IMO. eg. Look at Diana, just trotting along with the pack, now this past few weeks on the rise. Same for Sarah and Callan. In saying that some peak prior to leaving.

  1. Tonight was a refreshingly Tamara free evening as I started watching late and must have missed her dish.
Although Sarah does appear to have washed her hair recently I’m finding her increasingly annoying.
I’m definitely team Ben and team Diana.

    • Same with me, JB. Team Ben and Team Diana. Finally I really want Ben to win. At the beginning, I thought Ben, the ex model will be full of himself. But he is humble.

  2. It’s just started here. What did Eliza call it – a dig-a-station menu? Haha, okay then, Eliza, you dig.

  3. I really want the immunity pin … the pin is so important at this stage of the competition … this could be a disaster … I really don’t want to go home … I really want to be tasted(!) … I’m hoping my chicken/fish/pork/whatever is perfectly cooked … this could be a life-changer … etc

They say the same stuff over and over again. Are they reading from a script, or are they all bland and devoid of personality? Where are the characters?
More quirkiness and less faux hugging wouldn’t go astray.

  4. Tamara says I really really really want to be in the top 2. I think I really really really hope you’re not in the top 2. I thought she might be when they raved about her crab dish.
Callan does another bloody ice cream. That weird matcha seems to be the latest craze. Both eliminated contestants cooked with it last week on Studio 10.

  5. Matcha is not new. I have made Matcha Swiss roll with matcha cream cheese filling.
You can buy Matcha ice cream from the supermarket. There is also matcha tiramisu.
I guess because I drink matcha ceremonial tea twice a day, I am just use to the flavour. With good quality matcha, the taste is very subtle but with the cheaper grade, the taste can be very bitter with the same amount.

    • LP converted me to matcha a couple of years ago and as she said the good quality stuff is very nice.

      • Wonder why the MC contestants aren’t all over tonka beans yet… 😛 Maybe next year…?

Matcha is very nice, I love using it in cakes. It has a wonderfully subtle taste (and yes, Invested in a quality product^^) and it balances out the sweetness of certain ingredients.

        • I’m pretty sure they used them in something a few years ago and it was controversial because of they are toxic if they are not prepared properly. That may have steered them away – though I could have just made that up but I think I vaguely remember it.

    • I made a matcha flavoured Gateau Opera for DD’s 21st three years ago. I got the recipe from the ‘net if anyone wants to try it. I loved it.

  6. Wish they had eliminated 2 contestants as well as sending 2 to immunity. Although I would like both Tamara & Eloise to go Tamara’s dish was acceptable so eliminate Eloise for the mackerel disaster and Callan for making another #$@##$ ice cream.
Hoping for Diana & Ben in the finals. There’s something about Sarah that is irritating and it’s not just the hair.

    • My partner says she needs to start using Colgate Whitening… once he said it I couldn’t stop looking at her teeth. Plus the other night when she cooked for the pin she said “If ya wanna roll with the big dogs…” I just cringed.

      • I noticed that too. Wonder whether she was a smoker before.
In my time, some Malaysians get very yellow teeth because of using tetracycline by pregnants mum or young kids.
Now there is more awareness and the availability of other antibiotics, you shouldnt have this problems

        • Interesting LP. Could just be hereditary. Or the fact that she’s standing next to people whose teeth look like veneers ie Karlie and Ben.

  7. I am not sure Karlie deserved to have a shot at the ammunity pin or it should be Diana.

Only difficult part with Karlie’s dish is the sesame sauce and that just need blending in the blender.

Diana’s broth is more difficult to create.

  8. Handmaid’s Tale starts on SBS on Demand (streaming, not TV) this Thursday. If you like beautifully filmed dystopian stories it’s a must.

  9. Just watching last night’s Ep now now and Sarah mentioned she is diabetic. I’m surprised this hasn’t come up before, unless I missed it. It must make practising her cooking harder
