Weekend chat

Happy Friday night, everyone! What are you up to this weekend? Mr Juz wants us to watch the first episode of the new show Containment. containmentlogoHere’s the blurb: The series follows an epidemic that breaks out in Atlanta, leaving the large city quarantined and those stuck on the inside fighting for their lives. The drama tells the story of loved ones torn apart, and how the society that grows inside the cordon reveals both the devolution of humanity and the birth of unlikely heroes.
I still have to catch up on last night’s MKR and am behind on Better Call Saul and Project Runway All Stars. Mr Juz has been doing his umpteenth West Wing rewatch and has gone from episode one to the final season in about a month.

Jimmy Smits is almost the president, so, boo hoo, no more President Martin Sheen.
What are you watching this weekend?

      • Well, I didn’t watch any of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd season reruns, so I had to concentrate to put the pieces of the puzzle together, but I enjoyed it, and like they way they tackled it. I just hope that I don’t find all the different baddy groups confusing. It’s a clever way to bring back characters, like Leekie and Paul.
I really should have watched the reruns so that I could more easily follow the plot. I have forgotten; did Gracie die in S3? Was her bf killed?

        • Hey Daisy, i didn’t think Gracie died in S3. We watched Season 1, 2 and 3 in a row this year because you told me to!
Alison is my fave, but I love Cosima’s clothing. We have 10 eps of Season 4 from my mate. Just watched S6 of Walking Dead and have just started S2 of Bates Motel.
          Looking forward to Masterchef too.

I’m at the inlaws eating home made pizza from their outdoor pizza oven. Amazeballs!

          • I adore Alison. Do you know anyone else who is so anally neat and organized? Only I have never bumped off a neighbour.
            I love Helena too.
            And you gotta love Donny.

        • Gracie didn’t die, as far as I remember. Alison is probably my favorite…so supposedly straight-laced yet unorthodox. Who would ever believe what the happy homemaker and her husband have done. I like Helena, too, not at first, though. She has grown on me. I know that Sara is more of a central character than those two but she is not my favorite clone.
I like how they are showing us what happened in the past because it ties up some loose ends.

          • I loved Alison (and related to her) the second I saw her scrubbing her bathrub. I love the little cookoo housewife.
And I like the absurdity of killer Helena car singing to the Archies.

    • It looks like the writers have given up on the final season.

Cary (aka Logan) is just sleep walking towards the end.

Also, don’t buy the relationship between Alicia and the private investigator.

    • Thanks for the link. I’m glad it wasn’t the Game of Thrones actress.
How about a new Doctor to go along with the new companion? 🙂

      • Thanks for the link. Rumour had it that Capaldi is leaving at the end of the season with Steven Moffat so the new showrunner can do a complete reboot.

We like Capaldi but his Doctor has suffered from poor writing.

We also liked Clara, but as Juz observed, they never knew what to do with Clara. (Hell, they never resolved the Impossible Girl storyline, then she was saddled with Danny Pink and to add insult to injury, Clara was sacrificed to capitalised on the GOT band wagon. Grrrr).

        • I just don’t like Capaldi as much as I liked Tennant. In some episodes he is OK but in others just not right for me. I do have to blame the writing for a big part of it. Never liked Danny Pink. I would like to see a new Doctor and am hoping whomever replaces Moffatt does a better job.

      • Nah, they never knew what to do with Clara. Glad it’s not a “pretty pretty” girl but someone with character.

        • See, I always liked Clara (I liked Clara more than Capaldi’s Doctor, to be honest), but I gather I’m in a minority on that one.

  1. Thinking of all the diggers today, especially my departed Dad, Auntie and Uncle who used to march every year. RIP and thankyou.

  2. Pretty disgusted with Channel 7 for cutting in to the Last Post before the footy last night to go to an ad for MKR of all things!
Their apology is about as useful to me as that of a bank robber to the judge. Just no excuse.

    • Especially when it’s a promo that features Manu braying to ze tims ~

“You’ve been farting your way to ze Grand Final”

  3. Uuuugggghhh. I tried watching Family Feud all stars tonight. What rubbish! It was painful. I had to keep ffding, and even then I had to switch off after 2 rounds.

Things I would rather do than watch that again:
    Cut Woolif’s toenails
    A basket of ironing
    Drink kambucha tea
Eat a furball……… well maybe not the last one.

    • I’ve enjoyed past all stars eps, but last night’s was boring, I think mainly because it didn’t have any celebrities. The Masterchef one with the judges against contestants was hilarious.

    • I’m thinking nanna got the modelling assignment. Big budget tv ad.

But then look how it’s worked 4 them. You’ll all go to Bunbury now and head straight to 4 Ladies.

  4. I enjoyed West Wing until they started to give too much air time to the president. Charlie Sheen’s dad was really annoying. They forgot that the story was really about the back room. Or CS’sD had them by the short and curlies: after all, it’s a fairly pivotal, albeit small role. I think he must have blackmailed them for more money and more speaking lines. Ruined it for me.

    • Oh, Bob – how can you not like Martin Sheen? You’re dead to me! Josh is my fave and CJ is a legend. It was a thrill to see Elisabeth Moss pop up in Mad Men a few years later in a major role.

  5. This is a tricky one. Is this a bad guy or modern day Robin Hood, stealing from Coles and selling to pensioners who can’t afford food? Maybe Coles and Woolies themselves coould help aged pensioners.

  6. WHY do people go in Hot Seat when they don’t have even basic general knowledge, such as what country used to be called Siam? Ggggrrr.

  7. If anyone is checking this, the three epidodeHeartless is on sbs2 at 10.30 tonight. It’s really good tv.

  8. Did anyone catch George Clooney on an episode of Murder She Wrote this week?
Not a pretty boy and a really appalling actor.
Why don’t women age like that?

    • I watched George on Murder!!

And I LOVED Dexter. Watched all the seasons and finally convinced my folks to watch it, they loved it too!!

  9. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS.

Guys, be nice to your mothers and mothers of your children!

    Enjoy the day

  10. Lush, Littlepetal. Lush and delicious. You put love into it. 💖💖💖💖
