US Survivor catch-up

Finally, a bit of good news on the US Survivor front. While Channel 9 is not screening the premiere of Survivor: Millennials versus Gen X until this Thursday (a whole week after the US screening), it will play catch up the following week, showing eps 2 and 3 back to back.
The premiere this Thursday is due to air 10.30pm-midnight, but it’s on after The Footy Show which will no doubt run over, so set your recorders late.
If any of you have not seen US Survivor before but are converts to Australian Survivor I’ll be interested to see what you think of the original.
It’s still being doubled by The Block in the ratings.

I haven’t recapped MvGenX as I didn’t want to spoil it for those waiting for free to air, but if you want to read about it, Dalton Ross at ew.com is the Survivor recap guru, gets to go on location and then interviews Jeff Probst after each episode.

  1. Thanks Juz, yeah I noticed in TV Week that next week was a double episode. I guess a lot of people complained & they have taken note. Being on 9 rather than Go, I doubt we’ll get the live finale like we have for the last couple of seasons as 9 have other shows during the day.

  2. Thanks for the info ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m almost survivored out with survivorau on three nights a week so considering saving this series until survivorau finishes!

  3. I’m watching this now. The first episode of Survivor rarely captures me. This one has. I’m on Gen X, cos I am one ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Me too, even that oldest guy is younger than me so I’m really old and on their side! I like this better than the Aussie version.

  5. I will get Woolif to stream it or whatever tomorrow. I would like a double dose as I am finding Bachette a bit of a (yawn) “”I wanna be a tv celebrity”. When Georgia narrates, I feel like I am watching Catriona Rowntree on Getaway.

  6. So annoying – they didn’t even show it in SA (and that was when most places had power for once!). So anyone in SA who hasn’t seen it needs to catch up via 9Now. Double episode this coming Thursday (episodes 2 and 3).

    • That’s really pathetic, every other reality show get a million encores. You’d think they’d show it knowing a lot of people had no power.

  7. Finally got to watch the recording only to find that despite adding 30 mins to the recording time, it still cut off about 15 mins before the end.
I used to think that the networks were just incompetent about running to time, but I now know that it is a marketing ploy to get you onto their catchup service. I didn’t want to ‘register’ with NineNow but had to, in order to watch the end of the episode.

Are we able to discuss the actual show yet?
