  1. Entree is eggplant parmy with fennel and orange salad. They aren’t buying fish at Coles, so that’s a good sign. Main is baked fish with rosemary potatoes. Dessert is a bigne, which they describe as an Italian profiterole.
I hope they can cook – I love that they use a meat slicer to slice their eggplant!

    • I think a lot of people did not realise it was on – social media is quiet.
Boys get praise for their parmigiana but the fennel salad is ick. They should have just chucked some rocket on there.

  2. They get rave reviews for mains – it looks fabulous. But the Asian girls (sisters?) seem to be playing the “talk it down” game.

  3. Their dessert is a massive portion: three massive bigne on each plate. They took their choux out a little early but dessert is generally well received.
Anna AKA Henry’s sister is cementing her position as our new fave contestant with her genuine appreciate of the food and honest reactions.

  4. RIDICULOUS! They are so desperate to amp up the drama they turn a blown fuse into a major incident. I’m sorry, but Davide flicking the circuit breaker switch does not make him a hero.

Now, I know Channel 7 wants us to think the Russians are villains but I actually don’t mind them, and they are fair scorers.

  6. At least it wasn’t a fluke with Henry and Anna (who I still utterly love, for the record). The Italian boys can cook as well. They only really messed up with the side-salad on the entree. Everything else looked really great, and the scores reflected that.

I don’t understand Boris and Igor. Hyper-critical of *everything*, but they score well (indeed, they gave one of the highest scores tonight).

I also liked that Henry has figured out the Man Eaters’ game, calling them on all their subtlety (high five Henners), or total lack thereof.

    • I think it’s their personality to be glass half empty, plus they seem to be happy to be “bad guys” as requested no doubt by casting. I prefer their bluntness to the fakes at the table. I’m guessing they do some kind of pate for their dinner given the ad reference to cat food.

  7. Judges’ scores
    Entree Manu 6 Pete 6
Main Pete 10 Manu 8 (it’s unclear why he marked them down)
    Dessert Pete 9 Manu 9.
    Total 99
Well done, boys. It’s obvious they know their way around a kitchen.
On Sunday night the Russians cook.

  8. Another team with good potential, know how to cook (look at the knife skills), had a professional bench oven as well. Just don’t know where the 5 trays of potatoes went???

Can’t complain with Olga’s critique of Manu… you do get some contradiction and consfusion at times with what he says. And the Russian’s are being obviously told to play “russian” but behind the scenes are fair.

Can’t wait to see if Beef in Black Bean is classified as a high end dish.

Enjoy the Tassie team, the military couple (bang on about the dog biscuit on the nose comment).

  9. Just watching on my lunch break. Is it just me or does that restaurant where Pete and manu critique the menu look like the Aldi bottle shop
